The tooth is numbed before any work begins, so you should feel pressure but not pain during the procedure. If you tend to feel anxious, ask about laughing gas or oral sedation to stay relaxed. Most people return to their normal day right afterward. Mild sensitivity for a day or two is common and fades on its own.

A well-placed composite filling typically lasts seven to ten years or longer with good home care. Daily brushing, flossing, and regular cleanings protect the bond and the surrounding tooth.
